ABOUT

MY BACKGROUND

I'm Lauren Senesac Nichols, and I've been editing since 2019. I earned my PhD in Sociology at Princeton University and my B.S. in Computer Science at Furman University.

What draws me to editing is the same thing that drew me to computer science–the chance to systematically solve problems. I love to organize thoughts (I love to organize almost anything)! Combining problem solving with social topics takes me to my happy place.

MY SPECIALTIES

I specialize in books and articles in sociology and education, though I have also edited works in related social sciences like public policy and organization management.

My academic expertise is in sociology of science and technology and sociology of organizations. I did my dissertation on citizen science organizations. Of course, I am also more broadly versed in sociological topics like culture, race, gender, social networks, education, and more.
